Nissan Unveils The World’s First Self-Healing iPhone Case

Each day iPhone case manufacturers roll out some brilliant new cases. First we heard about the $10,000 worth iPhone case, and thought that it was the limit, but now Nissan has reached even further. Not in terms of price, but in terms of productivity and functionality.
Nissan has managed to make the “World’s first self-healing iPhone case”. This iPhone case heals the scratches on it’s surface by itself.

This Scratch Shield case has been announced by Nissan for both iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. These cases are made of ABS plastic that is designed to create a rigid, robust and tighter-fitting case. The paint has the ability to heal the scratches on it’s surface.

Boy Genius Reports further explained about the working of  this technology,
When damage occurs to the coating, the chemical structure is able to react to change back to its original shape and fill the gap, thus “healing” the blemish. The healing process takes between an hour and a week depending on the damage.
These cases haven’t been released to public yet — some beta testing going on at the moment. However, if everything goes according to plan then we might see a public release of the Scratch Shield iPhone cases later this year.
